URLTV MOTOR CITY MAYHEM DEC.3rd [Predictions]

*Arsonal and Calicoe (Undecided)

B-Magic vs Young Kannon
Young Kannon - Debatable 2-1 Win
I think Young Kannon is going to come out of that battle with a debatable 2-1 victory. When it comes down to it they both match eachother in skill but I think Kannon's bars hit a little harder than magic's.

QP vs Tay Rock
Tay Rock - Definite 2-1 Win
I gave this battle to Tay Rock with a definite 2-1 victory. Not taking anything from QP because he defiantly has bars but I think Tay Rock's ability to hit you bar after bar after bar will get him the win.

X-Factor vs Rich Dollarz
X-Factor Debatable 2-1
I gave this to X-factor 2-1 but I say this can be debatable because Rich Dollarz is highly under rated and battle rappers tend to sleep on him when going into a battle. But If we see the Summer Madness X-factor in this battle then he will get the W.

Aye Verb vs O-Red
Aye Verb Debatable 2-1
In my oponion the winner and loser of this battle is up to Aye Verb. Verb can easily win this battle but it depends on which Aye Verb we see in this battle. If we seen the "slow build up to a average punch line" aye verb then O-Red is going to 3-0 him. But if we see the "Aye Verb vs Math Hoffa" Verb then he will easily 3-0 O-red, so it all depends on which verb shows up on December 3rd.

Big T vs Tsu Surf
Tsu Surf Debatable 2-1
Big T and Surf will be sure to be a classic. But one thing about Surf is he knows how to beat his opponent he has a way of taking the spirit out of the other rapper and winning the crowd over in a least one of his rounds. Not taking anything away from Big T but I think Surf will get the win.

[Battle Rappers] Don't "Burn Your Bridges"

I understand the main goal here is to get signed and to make music, but for some of you rappers those goals wouldn't be anywhere in reach if it wasn't for battle rap. I'm often hearing rappers say "I'm not a battle rapper", or put another battle rapper down for taking battles and not pushing their music. I'm lost....since when is battle rap not apart of hip hop? If it wasn't for battle rap these battle rappers turned strictly artist wouldn't be relevant. So don't forget where you came from, and what platforms got you to where you are today.  It seems like after a battle rapper is coming off a loss or getting booed they start acting like they don't care for battle rap, acting like they are too good for it, when some of these rappers are getting more money from battle rap than their own music.

"Summer Madness Rights and Wrongs" @Urltv @SMACKWHITE

"Summer Madness Rights and Wrongs"

As we all know the most recent Smack/URL event "Summer Madness" took place August 7th 2011 at the legendary Webstar Hall. This was by far the biggest battle rap event in history hands down. The card alone held some of the most anticipated battles of the year, but as more and more battles drop the more people say it is not living up to it's hype and it was a disappointment. Now every time somebody brings this topic up I have to strongly disagree. So far I've seen some of the most entertaining battles I have seen in a while. Now I'm not saying that the Summer Madness battles that have been released so far have a legendary status but they are not as bad as they may seem. Here are some reason why:

Too Much Hype and Too High Expectations:
Going into the event summer madness brought in the biggest wave of hype I have ever seen going into an battle rap event. Summer Madness had big name people that don't even battle rap following this event, such as Kevin Durant, Drake, and Nelly. With this type of following Summer Madness had to be legendary every second of every battle to even live up to the hype. People had way to high expectations going into the event, expecting a classic from the opening battle to the main event.

Too Many Battles In One Night:
Despite what anybody says I believe the Summer Madness battles that have been released so far were all good. The Hitman Holla vs Hollow Da Don battle to me was one of the best battles, but It was hard for me to get excited about the battle because the crowd wasn't enthused, and I can't blame the crowd because If I was standing for 4-6 hours I wouldn't be worried about anything Hitman or Hollow had to say I would be worried about finding a seat. If that battle was the first battle of the night the crowd would have been going crazy.

Audio Quality:
Due to the size of the venue the MC's weren't able to use the microphones that clip onto your shirt, they had to use the handheld mics. This topic is very controversial, because many people say some of the MC's didn't know what to do with a handheld mic. I agree with that statement 50% because some of these rappers do best when they are able to act and show off their bars and they weren't able to adapt, because when they were writing their rounds they were writing as if they were free handed and they could show some performance. When you have a handheld mic you have to adjust your bars and make them more lyrical and less performance. At the end of the day the audio wasn't that bad but it wasn't the best.

All in all Summer Madness was a historical event for battle rap, and set the standards sky high for all the other battle rap leagues.

@JohnJohnDaDon vs T-Money [Prediction]

John John Da Don 3-0
At the next upcoming Grindtime event John John Da Don and T-Money will be getting in the ring. Now I already seen most of John John's battles so I know what he comes with, but I had to do some research on T-Money. I could only find 2 of his battles and one of them was only a round battle against T- Dubb so I don't know much about his skills, but from what I saw he is average. He comes with some bars here and there but his delivery and flow could use some work. Now you never know what could happen in a battle because rappers tend to show up for certain battles and not for others, but most likely I see this being a cake walk for John John and after this I want to see QP (Qleen) and John John Da Don go at it. Smack.....set that up! lol

My hopes for @urltv @SMACKWHITE and @Grindtimenow @Drect

Smack URL and Grindtime are hands down the most respected and largest battle rap leagues out right now. They are the platform right now for battle rap across the U.S. But in my opinion they can do more together than they can apart. Now I'm not saying Smack and Grindtime should merge together and become SmackURLGrindtimeNow, I'm saying that maybe for one event a year they should come together for one big event. If they combine both of their profits together they can easily hold a show at a Madison Square Garden type of venue, and just like Webstar Hall that would be a HUGE step for battle rap as a whole. Just think of the people that will come out to see an event with the best of Grindtime and the best of URL all on one stage. Now I understand that URL and Grindtime rappers can have totally different styles, and that's why I am only suggesting that they do this type of event once a year. I know this idea is kind of far fetched but I believe it will do big things for the battle rap culture. So Smack URL staff and Grindtimenow staff if you guys read this just think about it, you never know what it could do...

Most disrespectful battle I've seen in a minute!

KOTD CLASSIC- Marv Won vs Pat Stay

*CLASSIC BATTLE*

I had my doubts about Dizaster but I never seen this battle and he impressed me a little. And this is QP's 3rd battle in one day! Check it out!

YUNG ILL vs CORTEZ [PREDICTION]

Cortez 2-1
So we got Yung Ill vs  Cortez, this battle could easily be a main event on any card. First I would like to start off with Yung Ill in my opinion he only lost 1 battle so far, and that was against DNA. The only reason I say this is because he didn't come with the Yung Ill everybody is use to. Even though he still came with some fire and hilarious jokes he still wasn't at his best. Now after that battle I started having my doubts about Ill, thinking to myself "He might turn into a inconsistent battle rapper" sometimes he shows up sometimes he doesn't but this battle against cortez will show the battle rap community if he is a "Top Tier" or middle of the pack. Now on to NYB's Cortez, to me almost all his battles are "on the fence" meaning they can go both ways, I still haven't seen Tez body somebody 3-0. But don't get me wrong every battle he comes with bars but not enough to get him a win....clearly....no debating lol. This battle with Ill he is going to have to come with the Cortez we seen against Hitman Holla because if not he might get embarrassed, because Cortez has alot of people who dislike him and would like nothing more to see him get a loss under his belt.
Now after all that being said I'm going to have to go with Cortez 2-1.

@TSU_SURF vs @BigTQMB [Prediction]

Ok so it's official in Detroit it's going down Tsu Surf vs Big T. Tsu Surf coming off a 2-1 win against K- shine (in my opinion) and Big T coming off a battle against DNA a year ago that could have went both ways. Even though I would much rather see Hitman Holla battle Tsu Surf I still believe this battle could be a classic. Big T's wordplay and Surf's aggressive style will make for a very versatile battle, but sometimes a difference in styles  can cause the battle to be boring and hard to follow but hopefully that won't happen with this battle. It's hard to predict battles because you never know what a rapper is going to come with, but if Surf comes with the aggressive style, with a mix of personal bars, and a few rebuttles like usual I think he will take this battle 2-1.
